What kind of nail polish would look good with a light-medium yellow dress?

red. red red red :)What kind of nail polish would look good with a light-medium yellow dress?
Depends on what you are looking into doing. Is this for the nails or toe nails? Are you into fun colors (like light greens) or more subtle?

French is always safe. You could do a French with colored tips too.

If it is for the toes you could do all kinds of fun things.

With Light/Med. yellow:

-Burnt orange

-Orange based Reds (like Fire Engine)

-Some greens

-Chocolate Brown (and some lighter browns too)What kind of nail polish would look good with a light-medium yellow dress?
I think a french manicure goes with any thing;

most people think it's just white tips but using other colors are fun too.

my favorite nail polish is OPI

you don't have to get OPI you can get any brand you wish, thought id give you ideas. Also don't match your nails with your clothes etc.. it's just too much.

Does anyone know how to remove nail polish from a cotton bedspread?

Use gentle nail polish remover %26amp; pre-treat with a laundry detergent/stain remover. Let it sit for 25-30 minutes %26amp; then launder it as usual. I just did this with a cotton blanket quite succesfully!Does anyone know how to remove nail polish from a cotton bedspread?
Nail Polish on Colored Cotton

Before treating any garment, always first refer to the instructions on the care label.

1) Always make sure you protect colored items by pretesting the effects of stain removal techniques on a hidden area of the garment.

2) Use fingernail polish remover or acetone which can be found at your local drug store.

3) Pretreat using Liquid Tide庐.

4) Wash in warm water with 1 use of Tide庐.

5) Air dry. Repeat the procedure, if necessary.Does anyone know how to remove nail polish from a cotton bedspread?
try nail polish remover, if not paint thinner
Nail polish remover.
I have never tried this before, but I think Martha Stewart might have it on her website. I would put a towel on the side where the polish is and then I would dab the remover on the oposite side, being careful to dab only to prevent it from making a smudge. Now if it is a quilt (with batting) I would dab directly onto the polish with the remover.

I would check out the martha.com website first though she may have a great solution.

Best of luck

How long does Nicole by OPI nail polish last?

Hey I just bought some Black Nicole nail polish made by OPI. How long will it stay on my nails usually? How long does Nicole by OPI nail polish last?
Not very long, OPI is really bad quality. It'll probably stay on for 3 to 4 days tops. Get Essie next time, it costs the same as OPI and it lasts for a week. My nails are Wicked by Essie, I got them done last Tuesday and they still look perfect.

Do they still make that crackle nail polish?

I remember using it about 10 years ago, so they probably don't even make it anymore lol, but has anybody seen it recently?

im getting a mani on saturday, and i want to know what colour to paint my nails? any help? thanks sooo much:)What are some cool new nail polish colours?
If you have pale skin I'd recommend a pale colour, as dark ones always make my skin go freakishly white! I'm wearing a very pale pink at the moment which looks really cool and have had lots of compliments :)

If you have a darker skin tone how about a deep blue as is quite fashionable at the momentWhat are some cool new nail polish colours?

How to get nail polish off hardwood floors?

You'd have to use something harsh, even nail polish remover would be harmful.

If your hardwood floors have been stained, varathaned, I wouldn't take a chance using anything - phone your favorite big Hardware Store, Carpet %26amp; Flooring store and ask them what they would suggest, they no doubt have a safe way (and product) to get rid of it without harming the finish on the floor. How to get nail polish off hardwood floors?

How to even out the White Nail Polish when painting a white tip?

Well if you don't want to go to a beauty salon, then you can get a Q-tip and dip it in nail polish remover and make the white tip as thick or thin as you want. You can also use tape (but its messy and complicated.)

Best advice: get the tape things for french manicures they sell them @ Sally's Beauty SupplyHow to even out the White Nail Polish when painting a white tip?
the little sticker thing are the best, and they come in different arches sometimes,my friend use the draw a line on her finger nail with a pencil , where she wanted the tip to be and tried vry hard not to go over the line, then if she did she took a q-tip or a really thin paintbrush and cleaned it upHow to even out the White Nail Polish when painting a white tip?
    Have it done professionally.
I paint it on at an angle starting on the right to the middle, then I do the same on the left side until each side meets
they sell manicure kits in the drug stores. takes practice though.
I paint the white on as evenly as possible, and then I go back with either a q-tip or an eye make-up brush dipped in a little nail polish remover and even it out. It comes out really nice! Good Luck!
french manucure and you'll need some one to help you with that just don't move you hand or shake it so it doesn't come out bumpy.
Certain places carry these great little sticker type things to help you with a french manicure. I think most drugstores carry them next to the nail polish.

What do you think of Essie nail polish?

I have never tried their nail polish, and I wanted to get some opinions before I buy because it's an expensive brand.

Does it last a long time before chipping? Does it dry to a nice finish? Does it have a good brush for applying the polish?

I love their colour selection and that they are a cruelty-free brand, I just want some opinions before purchasing.

p.s. Also, what do you think of Essie base and top coats? Are they good too? What do you think of Essie nail polish?
The clear top coat does its job well.

sometimes, they have a sale. like a basket with 60% off essie and OPI.

thats how i tested it out.

its amazing, truly. it didnt chip until i started biting my nails about a week later.

the brush is pretty nice though, it spreads it our even, and it dries quicker than alot of the more exprensive brands.

so go for it(:What do you think of Essie nail polish?
I know that when I get manicures the manicurist uses Essie and OPI nail polishes 9 times out of ten. They are good but a little expensive, 7 or 8 dollars a bottle.

For the lower end of nail polishes I like Sally Hansen and Borghese nail polishes that can be bought at Walgreens.

I usually can wear nail polish for maybe a week before it starts chipping off and looking bad.

I rarely buy Essie nail polishes but do like their red called ';Watermelon';.

Do you have a Beauty Brands or Beauty First in your state? They might sell a top and base coat called ';Sticky'; which is green and comes in a round bottle or another line is Seche Vite(?) which my manicurist also uses. Hope this information is helpful.
I like it. It's a bit expensive, but I got some at Ulta a few weeks ago buy 2 get 1 free. It didn't chip at all for me, for at least 4 days.

They have a color called Flirty Fuschia, it's a bright neon Barbie pink. It's so pretty :-]
I don't believe I tried Essie nail polish b4, but I really like Revlon nail polish, I have used the two I have at home and got compliments both times. Try Revlon Hot Tamale or Vixen. Good luck!
I really like Essie nail polish, the color are nice, they're dry fast. The celebrities use that more than OPI.

  • Why does my nail polish have little bubbles?

Why when I do my nails at home are there tiny little bubbles in the color and/or in the clear topcoat I apply? Why does my nail polish have little bubbles?
It's old . Has air in it.Why does my nail polish have little bubbles?
Did u shake the bottles before you painted your nails??? If you shake the bottles, you must then let them sit for about 10-15 minutes to let the bubbles rise to the top. It would be better just to roll the bottles on the table just a few times instead of shaking them, just to let the metal ball inside mix the paint a bit.
u may want to get another bottle of nail polish
It's old. Try getting new nail polish and topcoat nail polish.
It has to be the age, like they say. I've ask this question of everyone I thought might know the problem and nothing they've suggested has worked. Try a new bottle and see if it's any better. I've been doing my nails for thirty years and have not changed anything so I know it's not from how you shake it.
Air or water got into the polish bottle?

There is some oil or water on your fingernails when you put the polish on. Make sure they are dry.
Man! I want to know that too! That happens to me almost every time I do my nails at home! I used to think I was applying too thick of a coat, but I'd do an almost sheer coat of color and the little bubbles would be there. But it doesn't happen every time. Maybe it has something to do with thick/old polish?
What you're describing are actually air that gets trapped especially when it dries causing the appearance of bubbles. Try applying a coat of nail varnish at a time, allowing each coat to dry properly before applying the next. Do not shake the bottle of nail varnish either as this will make the condition much worse, instead roll it between your palms %26amp; store 'em in your fridge to prevent from further damage. Also it lasts longer that way.
do not shake your nail polish cause by shaking the bottle, you are actually making the bubble, so instead of shaking, roll them in your palms... The heat from your palm, kinda in a way warm up the nail polish too...

    Good Luck!!
That happens if you let too much direct air get on them while you are painting them and while they are drying.
Well when that happens another liquid has been added that chouldn't.

Like water or something or juice or any drink.

Thats what it bubbles like that.
that happens because you are probably shaking the polish bottle??? roll it in between your palms instead so you do not get bubbles
its either air bubbles that you cant remove or cheap nail polish
because I blew bubbles in it with a straw.
It's because you probably shook it and didn't let it settle. Try rolling the bottle between your hands instead of shaking it.
one of the causes of bubbles is shaking the bottle(you should just roll the bottle on the palm of your hands, right before applying the polish), but the main cause is the AIR in the brush applicator, that is why you have to slowly brush the applicator on the side of the bottle to remove excess polish and air/bubbles. :)
probably air bubbles, only apply thin coats and let it dry completely before applying second coat or top coat.
    its probably old polish
you are shaking the bottle before you apply it...do not shake it instead roll it in your palms. Shaking causes bubbles.
don't shake your bottle b4 you apply...the shaking causes the air bubbles...try turning the bottle up-side down, place the bottle between your hands and roll the bottle between them without shaking..this will stop the bubbles from forming and ending up on your nails
They are air bubbles because your nail polish is old.
simply enough...the polish is too old or too thick.
get new polish and throw that one out so that you wont have any more bubbles.

Is it possible to have clear nail polish?

Like just with the enamel, or clear nail polish, with the natural nail colour?

I haven鈥檛 seen anybody with with clear nail polish only (they have a colour with it), ...so is this common? Is it possible to have clear nail polish?
Yes you can get clear nail polish. Some may be called ';base-coats'; or ';top-coats';. But they are clear. You can get them anywhere for a buck or two. Walmart...drugstore...etc...

There is also this neutral pale pink color that looks just like your nails. So when you put it on, it looks clear and natural. They use this for french manicure nails (adding the white tips of course!).Is it possible to have clear nail polish?
Yes, you can purchase clear polish in nearly any store that carries nail polish or manicure supplies (Wal-Mart, Target, a beauty supply or drug store). It is available in both a shiny and a matte finish. Matte is what they generally use for a mans manicure, it provides strength and prevents the nails splitting without the appearance of wearing polish.
yeah, i use it all the time, it makes your toes really nice. I buy it all the time, last one i got was from 'the face shop' but i used to get it from manicare and you can also get it from maybelline.. you can also get nail polishes that are clear but with a hint of peach or rose colour
Most people that wear this, wear it to harden their nails, and to stop them biting them. You can buy it anywhere that you can buy nail polish. As for is this common, does it matter, surely what you wear is your choice and not because someone else is wearing it.
I'm wearing it right now so I am going to say yes it is possible. It is usually sold as saying 'coating enamel' or anything along those lines, you can just wear it by itself or over the top of a colour to protect it from chipping.
yeah it does exist if you cant find it, u can just use a gloss nail polish, its the polish that people use to add a gloss after doing a french manicure, i use that all time, its smooth thin and pretty because its suppose to give ur nails a shine without over doing it!
Clear polish is usually used as like a shield to keep nails from breaking, or to keep color from chipping, but I guess if you wanna use clear polish, go for it. It'll make your nails look shiny and healthy.
They do that for a french manicure. Like, of course they put the white stuff on there, but they cover it all with clear nail polish. I just use clear nail polish on my nails, it helps them from chipping.
Yes you can get clear but you could also try polishing your own nails with special nail polishing kits (no varnish) which use differing grades of grinding compound usually set on a soft block looks great!
yes, I wear clear nail polish most of the time it gives your nails a nice shine.

You can buy it pretty much everywhere :)
A lot of people wear it and you can get it at any place where they have beauty products.
yeah i have some, it is great. you can pick some up at your local $2 store or at kmart or bigW!
Yeah -- you can find it almost anywhere.
Sure. You can find clear nail polish at any store. Lots of people wear it.

It depends on the type of nail polish. It will probably last for a week or two. Really how long nail polish will last is unpredictable. How long is nail polish supposed to last?
mine chip within the first hour or two...

    Nail Polish??

How do you get nail polish out of jeans?? i split green nail polish on my jeans like 2 weeks ago and i washed them 5 times and it still isn't coming out!! what do i do to get it out??Nail Polish??
Soak the spot with nail polish remover (just on the spot), run your finger nail over it a bit to dissolve, then press some paper towels on either side of the fabric to absorb the liquid with the polish dissolved in it. Might have to repeat a couple of times.

If the polish is just sitting on the surface, you could try peeling some of it off first, and some ice may help set it hard so it's easier to chip off :)Nail Polish??
    take it to the cleaners.
i dont think there is any way to remove it of jeans
    1) rub it with toothpaste, then wash(seriously!!)

2)if that doesn't work, try rubbing alchohol, then wash.

    3) if that doesn't work try good old fashioned nail polish remover!

Is there another way to get nail polish off?

I don't feel like going to the store. Is there another way to get nail polish off?
Use clear nail polish, over your nail polish you alredy have, and quickly wipe it off(before the clear dries) the reason i say clear is because even if some is left you wint really see it

    or rubbing alcohol

or just like when you take a shower, wet em(or soak em if youre not going to take a shower soon) and its easier to peel! =]Is there another way to get nail polish off?
if i put a couple of extra coats on, it'll often peel off after an hour or so. perhaps lightly scratching it off? best wait until you feel like going to get polish-remover so you don't damage your nails.
put more polish on top and wipe the whole thing off. It might be messy if your not careful but when you put the other wet polish ontop of the old polish it comes right off. or scrape it off with your teeth.
    Use rubbing alcohol.

Parents wont let me wear black nail polish?

My parents dont think it is right for me to wear black nail polish but i want to because im emo but im slowly showing that to them. When would be the right time to show them i have black nails. Also they say to eachother that if he wears black nail polish then he will not be part of the family. Can someone please help me.Parents wont let me wear black nail polish?
Well, in my opinion, if you are under the age of 18, you pretty much have to do what mom and dad say.

Its just a phase anyhow. So dont make this a bigger issue then what it needs to be.

Maybe try to negotiate with them. Like weekends only or something.

Styles come and go...but we only have 1 mom and dad. Right ???

Besides some of us dont have moms and dads alive so feel lucky and blessed that you do. Good luck. LONG LIVE BLACK NAILS !!!!

    Florida guy.

30 years oldParents wont let me wear black nail polish?
Tell your parents that it is what you want to wear, just like if someone would wear baggy pants, it's a style, I am wearing BLACK paint on my nails right now, ask your parents if they wore what they wanted when they were your age, if they did, then tell them that they were just like you are now.

I don't have any problem with my kids wearing black polish, it is only a colour for goodness sake, it is easily taken off....black actually does go with just about everything.

It is probably more why or how the wearer is wearing it.

Why do you need to wear black to be emo, aren't emos trying to be individual?

It seems to me that emos are pretty much just one of the crowd now anyway, why don't you just be yourself? Or would that be hard for your emo friends to accept?

i have taught my kids to be what they want to be not what others think is cool or correct.

Kids should be able to dress and wear their hair as they feel they like, but they need to also understand that not everyone can handle or tolerate their ';style'; so kids also need to understand that sometimes what they like, may not be appropriate and that they need to respect that.

We believe that even the ';weirdest'; person should be accepted, so long as they do no harm to others (or themselves).
your parents should really take a step back and look at the whol picture and to learn that there are more important battles....like drugs or alcohol.....wearing polish is just a creative thing you are doing. i have 40 yrold clients that are wearing the color. i dont care that you are a boy either, that makes no difference. i had a mother bring her son in to get a pedicure with her....he was 10! and it was so cute...i took it upon myself and painted his toenails black and did a skull with red eyes out of rhinestones. he loved it ---pirates of the caribbean was big then---and his mom thought it was really neat that i made him comfortable and that he enjoyed the experience. also everyone needs to have pedicures...it is a grooming thing not a gay thing. people come on!!!!!
    you want to wear it ';because your emo';

    You're a guy right?

so maybe tell them you're going to wear pink instead (if they find it worse).

    or just wear it

or ask them why you can't and explain to them you really want to and it doesn't mean what they think it does(even if it does)

and still if not just wear it.
CAN SOMEONE TELL ME EXACTLY WHAT ';NORMAL'; IS!!!!?

here what you do...you wear black nail polish...what are they gunna do about it? make you wash it off..take it away from you?...kick you out?

if they make you wash it off...put it on again

if they make you throw it away...buy more

if they kick you out...screw them

if they are gunna kick you out because you choose to express yourself how cares...go live with a friend...cousin...family member...

i say do what you want and screw the rest :P
My mother is super religious.I understand that you like to dress the way you want.At first she didn't except that.My father is a Metal head. She hated the fact that all of his children were like him.She prayed to god that we'd grow out of it.But it wasn't just a faze. This is who we are.I believe in god the same way she does I may look a little different but I'm still the same person as I was when she used to dress me.eventually she accepted and learned to live with it.This started when I was about 10 years old now I'm seven teen.
I agree with them... just because you have some sick idea of what and who you are with that stupid EMO nonsense... your parents are a whole lot more responsible than you are.

Be happy you have THEM for parents... I would have kicked you out on your dumb EMO arsz when you first came home looking you had just stepped out of your coffin.
I say, ';GOOD FOR YOUR PARENTS!'; They're ';normal'; and trying to help YOU remain that way!

THANK GOD THERE'S STILL PARENTS LIKE YOURS!

I don't think they should ';disown'; you; a bit dramatic. But. . .you need to listen to them. Black nail polish even looks stupid on girls (women); unless it's Halloween!
Whatever you do, let them know you are painting your nails black before they discover that you are wearing your sister's pink panties.

Dis-ownership from the family is light compared to what you could expect if you were my son.
you need to let your parents no that wearing black nailpolish is just your style right now. let them no that you just like how it looks, and remind them that when they were your age, they prolly wanted to dress how they liked too.
wow, thats harsh of your parents to say. maybe you could start with a gray or silver nail polish so your parents can start to get used to it, then a darker gray, then black
I guess it's because they don't want you to look gothic.

You are not an emo, I can tell. Emo-wannabe is more like it.

It's not cool. Let me reiterate, NOT cool.
I'm sure their is a way to express yourself without the use of black nail polish.
it took awhile for my parents to get used to it to just do it gradually
dont make it a big issue. it will blow up into something it isn't worth. do other emo things. i love the pants :)
UR A DUDE Y THE F**** WOULD U WANT 2 WEAR BLACK NAIL POLISH?
Well guys don't wear nail paint...
    ew
eww ur a guy don't do that!!

Have you ever discovered how flammable nail polish is?

If you haven't, how will you find out?Have you ever discovered how flammable nail polish is?
Actually yes! Caught my nail on fire once! It was an accident! No really! I swear! What?!?Have you ever discovered how flammable nail polish is?
Interesting question. I'm pretty sure that most, if not all nail polishes are flammable to some degree. Here are a couple of links. Maybe these will help you find the answers you are looking for? I hope so! Good luck.

I have a box full of nail polish, the whole rainbow and different shades (: Cause i frequently paint my nails each week.

But i'll check on this question later for an answer. I'll find out then !

Im giving you a star :D

I never heard of a question like this before.

    Im 13 btw.
Flammable, hmm. I tried it out, and I read the lable, I turns out some nail polish is like hairspray. Its pretty flammable so don't straighten and curl your hair while painting, it hurts to burn, but I got it under control!
    ????
    set it alight
    Put it in water.
    read the label?

Does anyone know how to remove nail polish from jeans?

I just bought a pair of jeans for Christmas I haven't even wear them yet and I spilt nail polish on them by accident I really like them I would like to see if there is something I can do with them before thinking of throwing them away????!!!!!!Does anyone know how to remove nail polish from jeans?
You could try using goo be gone or even some finger nail polish remover.Does anyone know how to remove nail polish from jeans?
try nail polish remover...in moderation though...the polish remover could further ruin the jeans. But, i guess if the nail polish has damaged them to the point that you are thinking of tossing them out, then i don't see why it would hurt to try polish remover.

I have done this before with my daughters purple Swede jacket and it came out just fine.

Just stretch the stained area as far as you can,get an old, clean wash cloth and remove the thick top layer of the nail polish..scratching at it a little if you need to.

Then there will still be more color on the jeans.stretch material out as far as you can and saturate the stained area repeatedly in polish remover with the rag or cotton balls or pouring it on there if you want.until the stain is gone. Each time you use the polish remover it will break up the polish so don't give up too easily. Then run the area under water to remove as much of the polish remover as you can. Then toss them in the washing machine following the dirrections on the tag.If you are unable to remove the polish all the way....do not dry the jeans.
    take non-acetone nailpolish remover

put some on a cotton ball - not a towel or q-tips - it must be a cotton ball.

Do not soak the cotton ball - it should be SLIGHTLY DAMP - not dripping.

Tap the cotton ball onto the polidh spot on your jeans - TAP do not rub! If you rub, you will get a larger stain and not be able to get it out.

As the polish on your jeans gets a little damp, get a fresh, dry cotton ball and and tap on the spot to draw up the liquified polish. Again, do not rub - rubbling will deepen and enlarge the polish stain.

Repeat this process until the stain is gone.

Do know that this may not remove all of the polish, but it will substanially reduce it to a minimum.

This will take some time. Do not rush.
Try non acetone fingernail polish remover.

Can I use acrylic paint as nail polish?

I have acrylic paint, and im wondering if it can be used as a substitute for nail polish. Can I use acrylic paint as nail polish?
it will peel and get scratched easily. it also will have a matte (in a bad way) not refined polished look. It will probably be pretty obvious that its paint too. get cruddy around your cuticiles lol and the texture is just way off. i dont suggest it, but hey..i do rando things like such when im bored. i would say ';i was bored'; is an acceptable reason :PCan I use acrylic paint as nail polish?
It won't have a very nice finish and it will chip super easy. Acrylic paint is great for design work on the nails, provided that you use a clear top coat, but as a stand alone nail polish it's terrible.
it will come off too easily.... i think it will only last a few days at most
