Why does my dark purple nail polish always turn out too dark?

I have this very pretty dark purple nail polish and when I put the first coat of nail polish on it is a lighter shade of the purple but when I put the second coat of nail polish on it looks like its black, I can't just leave the first coat on cause it doesn't turn out good.


is there any way to prevent this from happening so you can tell it's purple and not black?Why does my dark purple nail polish always turn out too dark?

Our Just gonna have to get a different Shade of purple =) the lightest oneee so when you apply it the 2nd time it will be the shade you want it and if tat doesnt work and you want it DARKEr


Just add another coat until you like it

All polish looks darker when dry. Couple that with the fact that you are using more than one coat and you are going to get dark results. You have to find a shade that is lighter than your current shade and try it.

base coat- 1st coat-2nd coat-top coat = clear
it could be becus your useing too dark of a color and need to choose a medium or light shade of purple and to darken it go over it a few times
All polish dries darker. If you get a slightly lighter purple you will get the color you desire.
Maybe you should get another nail polish cause that nail polish isnt the color you want
Just put on a first coat and put on two coats of nail polish coating. I think that what its called... or clear nail polish. :)
Get some nail polish thinner and thin it out a bit. Your polish will go alot further, too.
because when u put 2 coats, the second one is the same but goes over and makes it darker. same with food. eat to much..

put on one coat then a clear coat...duh..
